There were some confusing naming details for Xiaomi Redmi’s upcoming flagship phone which will use the Snapdragon 855. Finally, the brand’s GM, Lu Weibing shared on Weibo asking users to help with the naming of the new flagship and then he officially announced the upcoming device will be called the Redmi K20.
According to post “K series is the performance flagship of Redmi and K is the killer first”. So now we know where the K comes but why the 20 might be asked? Well, it seems that there is no exact reasoning behind the number apart from competing with Huawei as Lu said his company has a lot to learn from Huawei’s approach to marketing.
According to different sources, K20 will feature a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a built-in fingerprint reader and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection.
The front camera will be mounted on a pop-up mechanism and sport a 20MP sensor. The best feature of the phone will be its Snapdragon 855 chipset which is a first for the brand new Redmi subbrand.
The phone will feature a triple camera array with a 48MP main, 8MP ultra-wide and 16MP telephoto sensors. The battery of the phohe will be 4,000 mAh with 27W fast charging support.
Redmi K20 might be seen as POCO F2 in certain regions but that’s just speculation for now. The device will be offered in three colors: Carbon Black, Glacier Blue, and Flame Red.
